Calentador A/C y controles para Jeep Liberty

Jeep Liberty A/C and Heater Controls

When the A/C and heating system in your Jeep Liberty breaks or malfunctions, vehicle-specific replacement parts can speed the repair process. Whether your problem involves a heater core replacement or any other need, it’s important to find Jeep Liberty A/C and heater controls that match your vehicles year and model.

What are some components of the Jeep Liberty’s climate control panel?

The climate control panel is the unit that’s mounted in your Liberty’s dashboard that contains all of the buttons and knobs to operate the heat and A/C. You can opt to replace the full panel or you can replace individual controllers.

  • Temperature: This dial allows you to set the cabin temperature. Older models feature a color-coded scale of cold to hot, while updated vehicles feature a numbered scale marked with temperatures in Fahrenheit. On many Jeeps, this unit also pushes to turn the A/C on and off.
  • Blower fan: This dial selects the fan speed, so you can control how much hot or cold air is blasted into the cabin. On newer models, this knob usually doubles as a push-button control for the A/C.
  • Mode: This dial opens and closes vents according to set configurations. Depending on the year, the dial might also push in to activate the rear defroster.
  • Rear defrost:This is usually a small button on Jeeps that turns on the heating elements in the back window to melt away ice and snow
What is a blower motor resistor?

This resistor gets its input from your A/C and heat controls. The small unit communicates the input from the blower speed control to the blower itself so the vents in your dashboard release the correct amount of heat or cold. When you select a fan speed, it sends this information to the fan. When this component stops working properly, it can cause problems with every piece of your heating and A/C system.

What is a climate control bezel?

A bezel is the outer frame that surrounds the climate control panel. Most panels for the Liberty consist only of a small rectangular unit with exposed mounting brackets. The bezel is a larger frame — usually, with a second opening for the radio control panel — that fits around the edge of the panel and hides the brackets from view on your dash. Depending on your Jeep model and year, the bezel may also contain vents for the heater and air conditioner and an opening for the cigarette lighter. Most bezels snap into place on the dashboard for a smooth, one-piece look.

What is a heater actuator?

This small motor, which sits at the front of your Jeep, behind the dash, controls the vents in your car. When you select a mode on the control panel, the unit moves the appropriate vent doors open or closed. If you notice that the mode selector doesn’t appear to be directing air to the correct vents, or if the system can’t achieve your chosen temperature, it can indicate a problem with the actuator.
