Yeezy Boost 380 Sneakers

The Yeezy 380 Alien Blue is one of the more understated colorways in the 380 lineup. Combining wearable neutral-colored uppers with pops of color, it's reminiscent of the earlier Alien colorway. With its slim, tight-fitting uppers and chunky sole, this shoe is made for everyday comfort.

Design of the Yeezy Alien Blue

The Yeezy 380 was the follow-up to the Yeezy Boost 350 V2. It's easy to see the design DNA of the 350 in the 380 — it features a similar bootie upper and a sole with a distinct wedge shape. The silhouette of the 380 is sleek and simple, with clean, angled lines. The back of the outsole angles up and away from the ground toward the heel, creating the 380's distinctive profile. The uppers feature a mottled, multi-toned design that continues down into the two-tone midsole. A translucent, jagged-edged stripe runs along the quarter panel; it's woven into the uppers and features a variety of small round holes for breathability. As with most Yeezy shoes, the 380 uses a herringbone traction pattern on the outsole.

Materials used in the Yeezy 380 Alien Blue

The Yeezy 380 comes with one-piece, sock-style uppers. Made with Primeknit fabric, they stretch as you slip on the shoe. This adidas material hugs the contours of your feet, delivering extra support in key areas. The window/stripe on the side of the shoe is made with monofilament. Although the Yeezy 380 comes with laces, they're optional; the elastic uppers stay in place while you move. The laces are also stretchy, with an infinity design that adjusts using a toggle instead of a tie.

Like many of Kanye West's adidas shoes, this model features a Boost midsole for cushioning and comfort. If you turn over the shoe, you can see the signature pebbled texture of the Boost foam through a window in the rubber outsole.

About the Alien Blue Yeezy colorway

The Alien Blue colorway features neutral grey and white uppers paired with a pale green stripe. Since the monofilament is translucent, the green looks similar to adidas' glow-in-the-dark materials. The laces are also light grey. The midsole is the brightest part of the Yeezy 380 Blue Alien; it features two different shades of blue. Underneath, the gum-colored outsole reveals a glimpse of the white Boost material.
