AGM stands for Absorbed Glass Mat. These batteries are completely sealed, last between 3 and 4 years, and are maintenance free.
The final factor in selecting a Minn Kota battery is the Amperage Hour Rating. The Amperage Hour Rating is basically the number of hours the battery will deliver. The number of hours is then divided by the speed you are pulling. Minn Kota recommends a battery with a minimum of 100 amperage hour rating in Group 27 with 175 minutes of Reserve Capacity (RC).
