Chevrolet Monte Carlo Sun Visors

Sun visors for Chevrolet Monte Carlo are small and often overlooked parts of your vehicles interior; they serve an important safety purpose by shading reflections and glare from your eyes when youre behind the wheel. These parts also may incorporate other functions, such as visor extensions, mirrors, lights, garage or gate controls, storage pockets or clips, and more to make your drive comfortable. Numerous options ensure that you will be able to find the right product for your vehicle.

What are the parts of a sun visor?

Visors used for the front seats of your Monte Carlo attach to your vehicle with two brackets. The bracket that sits next to the side window consists of an arm and the visor is attached to that arm. This arm swivels up and down to allow you to lower the visor, and swings outward to allow you to block the sun from the side. The second bracket is mounted near the rear-view mirror of the Monte Carlo and has a simple clip or hook that supports the visor on the other side. You can often purchase these parts together, but there are also individual brackets if needed.

What other types of sun visors are there for Chevrolet?

Other than the visors attached to the front of your Chevrolet model, other visors can be found to block the sun from entering your Monte Carlo. These options include large shades that you can unfold and place in the windshield or rear window when you are not driving. There are also backseat shade options for a Monte Carlo that you can attach to the grab handle, install above the window, or attach to the inside window.

How do you replace sun visors in a Monte Carlo?

Replacing the sun visors in the front seats of your Monte Carlo is a simple task that requires few tools and little time. The process may vary slightly depending on the year and model of your car and the specific visor you wish to install.

  1. Using a flathead screwdriver or trim pry tool, pop off the trim that covers the screws on each bracket. Some screws may be accessible through the trim, so you will need to unscrew these before removing the trim cover.
  2. Unscrew the screws on the brackets at each side of the visor. If the brackets do not come out quickly, you will need to pop them out of their sockets in the ceiling of the Monte Carlo.
  3. Disconnect any wiring that may be attached to the visor.
  4. Position the new visor on the ceiling of the Monte Carlo and connect the wiring harnesses in the new visor to the wiring if applicable.
  5. Attach the brackets to the two sockets. Replace the screws and trim, ensuring that the visor is secure.
  6. Check the visors performance by swiveling it in the intended directions and checking the light and other features.
